Morning Prayer

Evening Prayer

Opening Prayer for Meetings (Morning)

Leader: Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.

Response: Lord, give success to the work of our hands.

Leader: Fill us at daybreak with your kindness that we may shout for joy and gladness all our days. Let your work be seen by your servants, and your glory by their children.

Response: Lord, give success to the work of our hands. (Psalm 90)

Leader: Whatever you do, in word or deed, do in the name of the Lord Jesus.

Response: Let us give thanks to God through him. (Col 3:17)

Leader: Almighty and merciful God, may no earthly undertaking hinder those who set out in haste to meet your Son, but may our learning of
heavenly wisdom gain us admittance to his company. Grant that as we set about your work, your hand would guide our labor and bring it to its fruitful completion, through Christ our Lord.

Response: Amen.

Opening Prayer for Meetings (Evening)

Leader: It is good to give thanks to the LORD, and to sing praise to your Name, O Most High; to tell of your loving-kindness in the morning, and of your faithfulness in the night. (Psalm 92)

Response: You, O Lord, are exalted for evermore.

Leader: For you have made me glad by your acts, O Lord, and I shout for joy because of the works of your hands. Lord, how great are your works!

Response: You, O Lord, are exalted for evermore.

Leader: The righteous declare the justice of the Lord.

Response: He alone is our rock.

Leader: The Lord has come to the help of his servant.

Response: He has remembered His promise of mercy.

Leader: God our Father, you bid us listen to your Son, the well-beloved. Nourish our hearts on your word, purify the eyes of our mind, and fill us with joy at the vision of your glory. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
Response: Amen.

DULUTH DIOCESAN PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS

Almighty Father, we beg You for an increase in religious vocations and holy marriages in our diocese.

Help us to be generous in our response to Your call. Choose from our homes those who are needed for Your work and strengthen us with the courage to say “yes” and to follow You.

Help us as a diocese, as a parish, as families to encourage and foster vocations to the priesthood, permanent diaconate, and consecrated life. We commend our prayers to our patroness, Mary, Queen of the Rosary, and ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
