About Us

St Michael’s Catholic Church of Duluth, Minnesota

Proclaiming the Gospel in Word, Sacrament, and Service.

“The parish is where the Church lives. Parishes are communities of faith, of action, and of hope. They are where the Gospel is proclaimed and celebrated, where believers are formed and sent to renew the earth. Parishes are the home of the Christian community; they are the heart of our Church. Parishes are the place where God’s people meet Jesus in word and sacrament and come in touch with the source of the Church’s life.”

Communities of Salt and Light, p. 1

St Michael’s Church is a Catholic community dedicated to the beauty of the liturgy, the call to charity and service, and ongoing formation in our faith. Lead by Fr. Francis Kabiru, and our Director of Music, Mr. Brian Kapp, the celebration of the Mass at St Michael’s directs the gathered faithful to the divine inspiration of the Word, the majesty of the Body and Blood, and our joyful response in spirited worship.

Outside of our liturgies, St Michael’s offers a variety of opportunities for our members to live out the gospel mission, including our Used-a-Bit Shop in downtown Duluth, our support of CHUM and their mission, our Social Justice and Human Trafficking Committees, and more.

St Michael’s has opportunities for faith formation available for all ages, including our Elementary Religious Ed programs, Children’s Liturgy of the Word, St Michael’s Youth Group, our Summer Visitor Series, as well as the host of guest speakers, preachers, and scholars who join us throughout the year.
